Seed Laboratory Manager

We are looking to employ a Seed Laboratory Manager for our Finmere site. 

As a Seed Laboratory Manager at Agrii, you will be responsible for providing a high quality seed testing service for our seed processing operation at Finmere. Ensuring that all seeds processed at Finmere comply with all legal aspects of the various seed certification regulations, and the company's QC Policy, this role will require you to work closely with our Seed Production Manager and Seed Processing Team.

Additional responsibilities will include:

  • Maintaining a clean and safe work environment within the laboratory.
  • Ensure all laboratory staff have received appropriate training and have correct PPE.
  • Compliance with all legal responsibilities in respect of seed certification and relevant seed regulations.
  • Undertake the duties of a licensed seed sampler.
  • Work in conjunction with the Seed Production Manager to ensure all Overyeared stocks held are routinely tested for germination.

Skills / Experience required:

  • Must hold a recognised qualification as an Analyst in Charge -acceptable to DEFRA.
  • Must be qualified in all major categories of seed.
  • Competent in Tetrazolium techniques.
  • A valid Crop Inspector license would be advantageous.

We're seeking candidates who are flexible and able to work in a fast paced environment. Candidates must be able to build and maintain good working relationships.

This is a permanent, full time role.
